History

TAG was established to deal with two distinct elements of the Corrib project. The first of these was to administer a thorough and independent Safety Review of the onshore, upstream section of the Corrib gas pipeline. The second was to put in place and administer an upgraded monitoring and inspection regime for the pipeline. Advantica, a UK consulting company was chosen, following a tender competition, to conduct the safety review. Further information on Advantica can be found here This link will open in a new window .

Technical Advisory Group (TAG) established a consultation process to allow written submissions to be made to Advantica. As part of the public consultation process, TAG, and its consultants, held a two day public hearing in Geesala on the 12th and 13th of October. The public hearings were chaired by John Gallagher SC.

The draft safety review was presented to the community in Mayo on 8th December 2005, and published on the same day. TAG invited comments on the draft review, with a closing date of 22nd December 2005.
