TheKinsale Head Petroleum Affairs Division collects and maintains spatial data to support the exploration and licensing of indigenous oil and gas resources. The spatial data used to support this initiative is now available to view and analyse online. Elements of these datasets are also provided as downloadable datasets or as OGC compliant webservices, the details of which are provided below in the Services and Download section.

Datasets available for viewing include current authorisations (Exploration Licence/Petroleum Lease/Licensing Option), wells drilled from 1970 to 2007, 2D/3D seismic survey locations, the offshore block grid system and offshore geology.
