Communications Minister Eamon Ryan today announced that he has appointed Ms. Anne Connolly as Director of An Post. Ms. Connolly will serve in this position for the next five years.
Announcing the appointment, Minister Ryan said, “This is a time of major change in the postal service. At such a time, it was crucial that I chose to appoint a Director with proven management and leadership skills.
I am confident that Anne will continue to build on the work of her predecessor Alice O'Flynn. Anne is a person with demonstrable vision and verve. Under her leadership, I believe that An Post will secure its future as a first-class service provider in this new era. I am delighted that Anne accepted this challenging role and wish her success in her new post.”

Anne Connolly is the Director of the Ageing Well Network – a group comprising the key decision makers in the sector; heads of government departments and policy bodies, service providers and academic institutions. Prior to this, she managed her own independent strategic management consultancy, specialising in the development and implementation of Strategy and Business Plans and general facilitation. She has served on the boards of a number of organisations including ICC bank, APSO and the Federation of Simon Communities, of which she was Chair until 2006.
