Search for Missing Man in Kenmare Bay
Kenmare, Thursday, 1 August 2002
A search is underway in the upper end of Kenmare Bay this afternoon for a man believed to have fallen overboard from a pleasure craft.
The Irish Coast Guard Marine Rescue Sub-Centre (MRSC) at Valentia received a call shortly before noon today and immediately tasked the Shannon-based Rescue helicopter to the scene as well as Castletownbere Lifeboat and Coast Guard Unit, Derrynane Community Inshore Rescue Service and the Waterville Coast Guard Unit.
A number of local boats have joined the search and the naval vessel L.E. Ciara is en route to assist.
Weather conditions in the area are good with calm seas and good visibility
