Q: Will existing licences in the Porcupine Basin be subject to the Licensing Terms for Offshore Oil and Gas Exploration, Development & Production 2007?
A: The Licensing Terms for Offshore Oil and Gas Exploration, Development & Production 2007 will only apply to licences issued since 1 January 2007.
Q: Does the 3 and 6 block limitation to the North and South Porcupine Basin relate to whole or part blocks? For example, can you apply for 6 part blocks in the North Porcupine which is the equivalent of 3 whole blocks on an area basis?
A: An application may include acreage in more than three blocks in the northern sub area or six blocks in the southern sub area providing the total area sought is equivalent to not less than one block in both sub-areas and not more than three complete blocks within the northern sub-area or six complete blocks within the southern sub-area.
