Clarification Requests

When looking at the onshore petroleum licensing document in section 10.1 (a) it mentions information to be provided under section 9.2, I can only see a section 9. Could you please clarify the information that is needed to correspond to section 9.2?
This was a typographical error (which is now corrected). The section referred to should have read ‘Section 10.2’.

Per square km the cost is 29 Euro and there is an application fee of 1,520 Euro. Is there any deposit on the proposed work programme that needs to be made also, or are these the only fees levied by the Department?
A non refundable application fee of 1520 euro is to be submitted with each application. If a Licensing Option is granted, there will also be an annual rental fee chargeable at 29 euro per square kilometre held under the Option. Also, if a Licensing Option is granted, the main Option Holder (operator) will be required to apply for a Petroleum Prospecting Licence (PPL) over the area. There will an application fee of 1,520 euro payable with such an application and an annual rental fee of €7,601 will be charged on any PPL granted.

The application for prospecting license under the minerals development acts 1940-1999, Do I need to fill in this application as well if looking for oil and gas or do I do my own application according to section 5.2?
Successful applicants only will be required to apply for a Petroleum Prospecting Licence (which will be awarded under Section 9 of the Petroleum and Other Minerals Development Act, 1960).

In relation to section 10.2, does this need to be included if the application is being only made by our company and not a group of companies?
Yes. This information needs to be provided in respect of each company participating in any application.

Since reference to the applicant’s policy on health, safety and the environment is referred to in both sections 5.2 and 10.2, would one rendering suffice?
H&S policy needs only to be stated once.

I presume that I may choose the order and structure of my application, provided all the information requested is provided.
Once all the required information is provided, your application can be structured whatever way you choose.

Will the Department be available to meet potential applicants before the closing date?
The Department does not feel it appropriate to engage in meetings with companies to discuss potential applications at this stage in the licensing process.
