Inland Fisheries Ireland
While the Minister and the Department has responsibility for policy formulation it is implemented on the ground by Inland Fisheries Ireland (IFI). IFI was established on July 1, 2010 following the amalgamation of the former Central Fisheries Board and the Regional Fisheries Boards into a single agency. Inland Fisheries Ireland is responsible for the conservation, protection, management, marketing, development and improvement of the inland fisheries resource including sea angling in Ireland.
