The primary legislation governing the Inland Fisheries Sector are the Fisheries Consolidation Act 1959 (No. 14 of 1959) and the Inland Fisheries Act 2010 (No 10 of 2010). Various provisions of the other cited Acts also apply to the sector.
Inland Fisheries Act 2010 
An Act to establish a body to be known as, in the English language, Inland Fisheries Ireland or, in the Irish language, Iascach Intíre Éireann and to define its functions, to dissolve the Central Fisheries Board and Regional Fisheries Boards, to provide for other matters connected with the foregoing and to amend and extend the Fisheries Acts 1959 to 2007.
Fisheries (Amendment) Act, 1999 
An Act to amend the Fisheries Act, 1980, in relation to the composition and functions of the Central Fisheries Board and Regional Fisheries Boards, to make certain changes to their procedures, to provide for the establishment of their committees, to provide for the transfer of assets between the Boards, to provide for the establishment of a National Salmon Commission to advise the Minister on matters relating to the national salmon resource, to provide for a scheme for the tagging of wild salmon and sea trout, to amend the Fisheries (Amendment) Act, 1991, to provide for the appointment of management committees of Fisheries Co-operative Societies and for related purposes, to make consequential Amendments to the Fisheries (Consolidation) Act, 1959, to amend the Marine Institute Act, 1991, to waive the payment of accrued interest on certain waived advances of an Bord Iascaigh Mhara, and to provide for related matters.
Sections 3 to 26 and section 28 of the Fisheries (Amendment) Act, 1999 have been repealed.
Fisheries (Commissions) Act, 1997 
An Act to provide for certain validations, to amend the Fisheries (Amendment) Act, 1995, to provide for the indemnification of members of commissions under that Act, and for related purposes.
Sections 2 to 6 and section 8 of the Fisheries (Commissions) Act, 1997 have been repealed.
Fisheries (Amendment) Act, 1995 
An Act to amend and extend the Fisheries Acts, 1959 to 1994.
Fisheries (Amendment) Act, 1994 
An Act to make further provision for sea and freshwater fishing and for that purpose to amend and extend the Fisheries Acts, 1959 to 1991, and for registering and licensing fishing vessels, and for related matters.
Sections 3 to 14 and section 16 of the Fisheries (Amendment) Act, 1994 have been repealed.
Fisheries (Amendment) Act, 1991 
An Act to amend the law relating to fisheries and for that purpose to provide for the abolition of licences for angling for trout or coarse fish; to provide for the establishment of Fisheries Co-operative Societies for the development and regulation of trout and coarse fishing in fisheries regions; to make further provision for the election of members of Regional Boards; to provide for the issue of further classes of salmon rod licences, and to provide for other matters connected with the matters aforesaid.
Sections 4 to 15 of the Fisheries (Amendment) Act, 1991 have been repealed.
Fisheries (Amendment) (No. 2) Act, 1987 
An Act to amend the law relating to fisheries and for that purpose to amend and extend the Fisheries Acts, 1959 to 1987, by amending the provisions for salmon rod ordinary licences and extending the provisions for ordinary fishing licences which relate to rod and line to include licences in respect of trout, licences in respect of coarse fish and licences in respect of salmon, trout and coarse fish, to limit registration under Section 58 of the Fisheries Act, 1980 , to sea anglers and to certain other persons and to amend and extend Section 59 of that Act, to provide for other matters connected with the foregoing and otherwise to amend and extend the Fisheries Acts, 1959 to 1987.
Sections 19 to 21 of the Fisheries (Amendment) (No. 2) Act, 1987 have been repealed.

An Act to amend the Fisheries (Consolidation) Act, 1959.
Fisheries Act, 1980 
An Act to establish a body to be known as the Central Fisheries Board and to define its functions, to enable Regional Fisheries Boards to be established and to define their functions, to dissolve Iontaobhas Iascaigh Intíre Ioncorportha (the Inland Fisheries Trust Incorporated) and certain Boards of Conservators established by the Fisheries (Consolidation) Act, 1959 , to amend section 59 of the Foyle Fisheries Act, 1952 , to provide for other matters connected with the foregoing and otherwise to amend and extend the Fisheries Acts, 1959 to 1978.
Sections 3-5, 7-52, 54-63, 65, 68, 69, 72, 73, 75 and the Second, Third, and Fifth Schedules of the Fisheries Act, 1980 have been repealed.
Fisheries (Amendment) Act, 1976 
An Act to postpone certain elections pursuant to the Fisheries (Consolidation) Act, 1959 and to amend that Act and the Fisheries (Amendment) Act, 1974.
Fisheries (Amendment) Act, 1964 
An Act to amend section 55 of the Fisheries (Consolidation) Act, 1959 and to repeal section 63 of that Act.
Fisheries (Amendment) Act, 1962 
An Act to amend the law relating to fisheries and for that purpose to amend and extend the Fisheries (Consolidation) Act, 1959 and certain other enactments.
