Q: What is the length of the salmon angling season fishing?
A: The length of the season varies from river to river. However, it generally runs from 1 January to 30 September. Details of the specific season applicable to each river/lake may be obtained from the local Inland Fisheries Ireland office.

Q: What is the length of the commercial salmon fishing season?
A: The commercial salmon season generally runs as follows;


DRAFT NET AND OTHER ENGINE FISHING

closing date 31 July.

SNAP NET FISHING IN WATERFORD ESTUARY

closing date 14 August.
