The minimum information we will require for a Certificate of authorisation under
Section 14 of the Fisheries (Consolidation) Act, 1959 as substituted by
Section 4 of the Fisheries (Amendment) Act, 1962 for the taking of smolts is as follows:-
1.A description of the aims and objectives of the project.
2.The duration of the project.
3. The reason why stocking is necessary and why stocking will rectify the problem. (if appropriate)
4. Details of the people consulted, in particular, the Regional Fisheries Board, fishery owners and land owners on the river(s).
5. Details of the water(s)/river(s) involved and the status of the stock from which it is proposed to take smolts.
6. How it is proposed to take the smolts.
7. The amount that will be taken.
8. Details of the rearing plan to include a specification of the rearing facility. (if appropriate)
9. Details of the personnel involved.
10. Any other information which you may have available to support your application.
