Control of Fishing for Salmon Order 2008 (S.I. No. 98 of 2008)

This Order authorises the issue of commercial fishing licences by regional fisheries boards and sets out the criteria under which those licences may be issued and prescribes the maximum number of commercial licences which may be issued by regional boards.

Special Tidal Waters (Special Local Licences)  (Alteration of Duties) Order 2007 (S.I. No. 795 of 2007) This links to a Microsoft Word Document

This Order prescribes the licence fees payable from 1 January 2008 in respect of special local salmon fishing licences, including a salmon conservation levy equivalent to 50% of the licence fee. The proceeds of this levy will be invested in wild salmon management initiatives designed to rehabilitate wild salmon stocks and habitats.

Salmon Rod Ordinary Licences (Alteration of Licence Duties)  Order 2007 (S.I. No. 794 of 2007) This links to a Microsoft Word Document

This Order prescribes the licence fees payable from 1 January 2008 in respect of salmon rod ordinary fishing licences and the Foyle Area extension licence including a salmon conservation levy equivalent to 50% of the licence fee. These regulations provide for a system of on-the-spot fines in the area of inland fisheries to be administered by the regional fisheries boards, in order to cater for new fisheries legislation. The form of notice of an on-the-spot fine is set out in the Schedule to the Regulations.

Wild Salmon and Sea Trout Tagging Scheme (Brown Tags) Regulations 2007  (S.I. No. .209 of 2007)  This links to a Microsoft Word Document 
These regulations provide for among other things a system of brown tags for the tagging of wild salmon and sea trout for anglers in the rivers listed in schedule 1 of the regulations. The provisions of these regulations are in addition to those contained in the Wild Salmon and Sea Trout Tagging Scheme (No 2) Regulations 2006 (S.I. No. 672 of 2006).

These regulations amend the Control of Fishing for Salmon Order 2007 (S.I. No. 129 of 2007) to provide for the issue of available unallocated draft net licences to persons who held a drift net licence or a draft net licence under the River Shannon Tidal Waters (Issue of Fishing Licences) Regulations 1935 (S.R. & O No. 664 of 1935).

River Shannon Tidal Waters (Issue of Fishing Licences) Regulations 2007 (S.I. No. 207 of 2007) This links to a Microsoft Word Document

These regulations prescribe that no drift net licences or draft net licences may be issued in the tidal portion of the River Shannon. The Order also revokes the River Shannon Tidal Waters (Issue of Fishing Licences) Regulations 1935 (S.R. & O No. 664 of 1935).

Control of Fishing for Salmon Amendment Order 2007 (S.I. No. 154 of 2007)This links to a Microsoft Word Document 

This Order amends the Control of Fishing for Salmon Order 2007 (S.I. No 129 of 2007) to provide for 23 draft nets ordinary licences for the Ballyshannon district and a technical amendment to article 10 (2) of the Order.

This Order authorises the issue of commercial fishing licences by regional fisheries boards and sets out the criteria under which those licences may be issued and prescribes the maximum number of commercial licences which may be issued by regional boards. The Order also provides for the allocation of licences that may become available in 2007 because a person who would be eligible to be awarded a licence accepts an offer from the hardship fund.
