Bye-laws 2010

 

Shannon Fisheries Region Prohibition of the Use of Prawns, Shrimp and other Crustacea Bye-Law No. 871, 2010.This links to a Microsoft Word Document
Prohibits the use or possession of prawn, shrimp or any other crustacea as bait to angle or take fish with rod and line in the waters of the Shannon Fisheries Region.

Shannon Fisheries Region (River Shannon) (Angling) Bye-Law No. 870, 2010.This links to a Microsoft Word Document
Prohibits angling from a boat for salmon during the period 1 March to 30 September in any year in that section of the Lower Shannon as specified in the Bye-law and revokes the Shannon Fisheries Region (Angling) Bye-law No. 825, 2007.

Provides for a daily bag limit of 4 trout and prohibits the taking of trout less than 12 inches (30 cm) from the waters of Lough Gowna, Ballyshannon District.

Conservation of Salmon and Sea Trout (Catch and Release) Bye-Law No. 868, 2010.This links to a Microsoft Word Document
Provides for catch and release in respect of salmon and sea trout (over 40 cm) in the portion of the Lower Shannon from O’Brien’s Bridge, downstream on the downstream face of the bridge, to Thomond Bridge in Limerick city and prohibits the use of worms as bait and any fish hooks other than barbless hooks in angling for salmon and sea trout in those waters.

Southern Fisheries Region (No. 3 or Waterford District) Conservation of Salmon and Trout (River Nore) Bye-Law No. 867, 2010.This links to a Microsoft Word Document
Provides for catch and release in respect of salmon and sea trout (over 40 cm) in the River Nore during the period 17 March to 11 May, 2010 and a bag limit of 3 fish during the period 12 May to 30 September, 2010 subject to a daily bag limit of 1 fish during this period. The Bye-law also provides for the use of single barbless hooks and prohibits the use of worms as bait in angling for salmon and sea trout (over 40 cm).
