This Bye-law prohibits angling for salmon and sea trout over 40cm in specified rivers in 2010.

This Bye-Law specifies the rivers in which angling is permitted on a catch and release basis only and associated conditions in 2010.


Conservation of Salmon and Sea Trout (Bag Limits) Bye-law No. 864, 2009 This links to a Microsoft Word Document
This Bye-law provides for the annual, season and daily bag limits for the 2010 season. The Bye-law also provides for the use of single hooks and prohibits the use of worms as bait once the specified number of fish under the respective bag limits have been caught in the specified periods.

This Bye-Law provides for catch and release in respect of Salmon and Sea Trout (over 40 cm) in the Newport River (Lough Beltra), Co Mayo during the period 1 January to 11 May, 2010 and incorporates the provisions of the existing annual bag limit of 10 fish and the daily bag limits of 3 fish and 1 fish during the periods from 12 May, 2010 to 31 August, 2010 and from 1 September, 2010 to the end of the season respectively. The Bye-law also provides for the use of single hooks and prohibits the use of worms as bait in angling for salmon and sea trout over 40 cm or once the specified number of fish have been caught in the specified periods.

Salmon and Trout Conservation (Extension to Draft Nets Season) Bye-law No. 859, 2009

This Bye-Law sets out the annual close season for the draft net salmon and trout (salmon includes sea trout as defined in the Fisheries Consolidation Act 1959) commercial fishing season in the rivers mentioned in the schedule to the Bye-law.

This Bye-Law prohibits Drift Net and other engine fishing for salmon and trout (salmon includes sea trout as defined in the Fisheries Consolidation Act 1959) in all fishery districts. The Bye Law also prohibits having on board a boat, a vehicle or on or near the banks of a river or the shore of its estuary these nets with the intention of fishing for salmon or trout.


Salmon and Trout Conservation (Draft Nets and Snap Nets) Bye-law No. 856, 2009  This links to a Microsoft Word Document
This Bye-Law sets out the opening and closing dates (and hours) for the draft net and snap net salmon and trout (salmon includes sea trout as defined in the Fisheries Consolidation Act 1959) commercial fishing season and prohibits draft net and snap net fishing for (salmon and trout) in all districts other than those rivers mentioned in the schedule. The Bye Law also prohibits the use of monofilament material in draft nets with the exception of Cork Harbour where monofilament material in draft nets is permitted.

This Bye-Law provides for an extension to the annual close season for angling with rod and line in parts of Lough Conn, Lough Cullin and River Deel from 1 February to 31 May (both dates inclusive) in each of the years 2009, 2010 and 2011.
