PROJECTIVE OBJECTIVE
EKIOSK DEPLOYMENT IN SMALL TOWNS AND AREAS IN KILKENNY, WATERFORD AND WEXFORD
Circle Network provides eKiosks throughout Ireland and the UK. It has over 100 kiosks in Ireland and aims to reach and total of 1,750 in the UK and Ireland and eventually up to 10,000 throughout Europe.
Business Case for eCommerce Infrastructure Project
Private Internet access is still low in Ireland; the majority of users access the Internet at work. This automatically excludes a large part of the population who do not have access to a computer and the Internet e.g. retired people, people employed outside office environments. Circle Network proposed to deploy 50 Public Access Kiosks in the Kilkenny, Waterford and Wexford areas to provide access and bring new users to the Internet.
eBusiness Solution
Circle Network has deployed the Public Access eKiosks as planned. They are used by both experienced computer users and those who have never used a computer before. Local residents use the eKiosks to access the Internet, send emails – including video emails – to shop, book tickets and to bank on-line.
The company provides 24-hour technical support and provides on-site training and back-up documentation to the host locations.
There are several different areas for users to visit, all clearly marked on the touch screen. There is a small charge for access to the Internet and email, video email and photo email - IR£1 for 10 minutes access.
Circle Network earns revenue through the usage charges and also through taking advertising and marketing placements on it screens.

Circle Networks eKiosks bring the Internet to the wider community. Located in public places, hotels, hospitals, stores and hostels, the most commonly used feature is email.
