National Energy Efficiency Power of One Campaign
On 26 September 2006 Minister Dempsey launched the Power of One campaign, a two-year national campaign to address the issue of energy efficiency in Ireland. The nationwide campaign is designed to highlight what each of us can do as individuals to be more energy efficienct and reduce our energy consumption. Information on the campaign and energy saving tips are available on www.powerofone.ie
. As part of the campaign, consumers will be invited to 'live' on the most energy efficient street in Ireland - the Power of One Street. Further information is available from www.powerofonestreet.ie 
Sustainable Energy Ireland's Energy Agreements Programme
On 30 May 2006, Minister Dempsey launched SEI's Energy Agreements Programme in Dublin Castle. The programme is targeted at Ireland's largest energy using companies and requires participating firms to work towards the energy management standard, IS 393. In return, SEI will offer tailor made support and advice toward achieving the standard. Further information is available from Sustainable Energy Ireland at http://www.sei.ie

On 14 September 2005, Minister Dempsey launched the Large Industry Energy Network (LIEN) Annual Report for 2004. The launch marked 10 years of success for the LIEN.
The LIEN is a voluntary networking initiative, aimed at improving the management and efficiency of energy use in industry. Currently it has 80 members, representing 51.3% of Total Primary Energy Requirement for industry in Ireland. Members share information on energy saving technologies and techniques to maximise savings. In total, over 580,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions have been avoided over the 10 years of the scheme.
