Publication of National Oil Reserves Agency Bill 2006

The Department of Communications, Marine and Natural Resources wishes to advise that the National Oil Reserves Agency Bill has been published. The objective of the Bill is to provide for the establishment of the Agency, on a statutory basis, as the agency with responsibility for the holding and maintenance of strategic oil stocks. The draft National Oil Reserves Agency Bill is now available to view on the Houses of the Oireachtas website at www.oireachtas.ie

Interested parties should bear in mind that the Bill represents work in progress and is subject to change. In this regard, it should be noted that the draft Bill does not purport to be a legal document.
