eGovernment Award for Power of One
Minister Eamon Ryan presents Jonathan Harte (Energy Efficiency Division, DCENR) with an eGovernment award for Power of One
The Department of Communications, Energy and Natural Resources picked up a 2008 eGovernment Best Marketing Website Award for Power of One, the national energy efficiency awareness campaign, at a ceremony held in Dublin’s Four Seasons Hotel.
The Marketing Irish eGovernment Award recognises the organisation that best illustrates excellence in the marketing of ICT based services. Key factors in choosing Power of One as the winner included use of innovative marketing techniques, promotion and positioning of eGovernment services and how effectively marketing objectives were met.
Now in its second year, the multi-media Power of One campaign informs consumers on the many ways we can become more energy efficient whilst saving money and reducing CO2 emissions. To date some 150,000 people have visited the Power of One suite of websites - www.powerofone.ie, www.powerofonestreet.ie/ and www.powerofoneatwork.ie/
Minister for Communications, Energy and Natural Resources, Eamon Ryan, T.D. who presented the award said “For my Department to receive this award is pleasing on two counts - Not only does Power of One provide energy efficiency messages that enable us all to use energy more wisely, saving money and helping to combat climate change, it is doing so using innovative web-based tools. As Minister with responsibility for both Energy and Communications, I am delighted to see Power of One recognised in the highly regarded eGovernment Awards.”
