The Energy Efficiency and Affordability Division is responsible for negotiation of certain EU legislative measures concerning energy efficiency, their transposition into Irish law and their enforcement. However, in some instances other Departments may have the policy lead, depending on the nature and subject matter of the legislative measure concerned.

 

The Energy Efficiency and Affordability Division also has policy responsibility for the development of the Scheme of Accelerated Capital Allowances for Energy Efficient Equipment and related secondary legislation.

Energy Procurement Buildings Directive (EPBD)
(The Department of Environment, Community and Local Government are the policy lead on this Directive. This Department has responsibility for the Articles on boilers and air conditioning.)
