Energy Star Regulation

Regulation (EC) No 106/2008 of 15 January 2008 on a Community energy-efficiency labelling programme for office equipment requires EU institutions and central Member State government authorities to use energy efficiency criteria no less demanding than those defined in the ENERGY STAR programme when purchasing office equipment. The usual thresholds for public supply contracts apply.

The European Energy Star Programme is a voluntary energy labelling programme for office equipment. The Energy Star logo helps consumers identify office equipment products that save them money and help protect the environment by saving energy.
