This website offers important information and resources related to the work of my Department.
The work of DCMNR ranges from broadcasting to energy policy to the broadband for schools programme . Undoubtedly, you will find something of interest in these pages.
Part of the work of my Department is to look at internet security and safety(www.makeITsecure.ie). This is particularly important to you, the young web surfer. So I’d ask you to remember,
- If you see upsetting language or something scary on the internet, tell a parent or an adult you trust
- Keep your password a secret
- The people you may meet on-line may SOUND nice, friendly and funny but they could just be acting. Be smart. Never make plans to meet them in person
- Don’t share photos, descriptions or yourself or your family or your home with people you meet on-line
- Spend time surfing the net with your parents. Show them your favourite sites. You may even teach them a thing or two!
