Corporate Governance in the State-sponsored Bodies is underpinned by the provisions of the Updated "Code of Practice for the Governance of State Bodies" published by the Department of Finance in May 2009.
The Corporate Development & Governance Unit is responsible for oversight of matters related to the governance of the commercial and non-commercial State-sponsored Bodies under the aegis of the Department. It provides an advisory and support role to line divisions and the Management Committee, as well as co-ordinating the Department's response to matters arising in this regard.
The Unit also has responsibility for all matters relating to remuneration and appointments of the Chief Executives of the State Bodies, and for remuneration of Chairpersons and members of the Boards.
More details on the bodies under the aegis of the Department is available here
eGovernance
http://www.egovernance.ie/ is the Corporate Governance tool which acts as an information management system for all State sponsored bodies under the aegis of the Department. The system generates the monthly vacancies report which is required by the Minister. It outlines current and upcoming board vacancies therefore it is imperative that all Company Secretaries update their own board information. Please visit http://www.egovernance.ie/ to view this system. If you require any assistance please contact the helpdesk at eGovSupport@dcenr.ie
