Policy Goals:

The key role of the Postal Division is to develop and maintain an effective policy for the Irish postal sector and to ensure Irish customers, both business and residential, enjoy competitively priced, high quality postal services.

Some current and recent projects of interest:

    • Legislation (Communications Regulation (Postal Services) Act 2011) was recently enacted to underpin the regulatory framework for the postal sector, which was fully opened to competition from 1st January 2011, under the 3rd Postal Services Directive.

    The Commission for Communications Regulation, ComReg, is the regulatory body with responsibility for regulating the postal sector in Ireland. ComReg
